I got inspired by a recent documentary exploring the possibility of extraterrestrial life. The programme featured several recent discoveries made using the Kepler space telescope. The scientists discussed Kepler 22b and speculated that as it's 2.4 times the size of earth it's most likely an ocean planet. Near the end of the programme the scientists discussed a discovery of another potentially habitable planet. The scientists went on to speculate that this smaller than earth planet probably has a rocky surface as well as oceans. I decided to work with a concave shadow this time in order to show off the planet texture. I deliberately dimmed the star reflection on the main planet as I didn't like it too bright. I didn't bother trying to think of a fancy name, it is what it is. :)

If anyone is interested in watching that programme it was called 'Aliens: Are we alone'. It aired on Channel 5 on 16/5/2013. Their website still has it up, but if you can't view it, you will probably find it somewhere else online.

Tools:

Photoshop CS5 extended
Soft round brush
Planet textures created using Visible Earth.

Faves and downloads are all appreciated.
